چکیده

The present work aims to bring out a new approach of features selection for the discrimination of textures in sequences of images containing moving objects. The moving textures are analysed using spatio-temporal co-occurrence matrices from which we extract features characterizing the textures themselves as well as their movements. The originality of this approach is to select features that allow differentiating textures either from their visual aspect or from their movements. Our method, based on a supervised learning scheme, uses an iterative selection procedure in order to build a low dimension feature space. It has been applied, tested and validated on two reference databases, namely OuTex and BarkTex.

Study of the Feasibility of Regeneration of Central Worn-Out Textures of Ilam City Based on Urban Smart Growth Approach

Deterioration of urban textures is an issue that most cities in Iran are faced with and the organization of such textures is of great importance. One of the safest and most practical solutions for urban planners is to assess the feasibility of regenerating such textures to determine the levels that can be regenerated and are relatively good and tolerable for urban society. Therefore, the presen...

Selecting the Appropriate Approach to Reorganize the Deteriorated Textures

The term ‘deteriorated texture’ gives all experts as well as ordinary people almost the sameimpression. Despite common points in images, the differences put Iran cities in different categories based on deteriorated textures. This classification not only has negative effect on the audience from mental point of view but causes various problems for the experts in determining interference method. F...

Discrimination of an orientation difference in dynamic textures

We investigated whether the response of a motion sensor was related to the specificity of sensory information (orientation and direction of motion) used to compute motion energy. This was done in two ways. First, we assessed whether orientation discrimination of a target line, which segregated by an orientation difference from a textured background, was improved with two-frame apparent motion s...

Modified Goal Programming Approach for Improving the Discrimination Power and Weights Dispersion

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a technique based on linear programming (LP) to measure the relative efficiency of homogeneous units by considering inputs and outputs. The lack of discrimination among efficient decision making units (DMUs) and unrealistic input-outputs weights have been known as the drawback of DEA. In this paper the new scheme based on a goal programming data envelopment an...

Miscibility Matrices Explain the Behavior of Grayscale Textures Generated by Gibbs Random Fields

This paper describes an original approach to the analysis and prediction of graylevel textures gen erated as equilibrium states of Gibbs Markov random elds This approach is physically mo tivated by the analogy that exists between the graylevel textures and the miscibility patterns of multiphase ows The physics of the situation is captured using miscibility matrices that are related to the co oc...
